Professional Aptitude Certificate for Nursery and Primary School Teachers
The CAPIEMP Program (Certificat d’Aptitude Professionnelle des Instituteurs de l’Enseignement Maternel et Primaire) is a one-year foundational program designed for aspiring nursery and primary school teachers.
This program is part of ENIEG (Ecole Normale des Instituteurs de l’Enseignement Général), a recognized teaching order in Cameroon, and leads to certification for professional teaching at the nursery and primary levels.
Applicants must be Cameroonian nationals, aged 17 to 32 years, and must present the following qualifications:
At the end of the program, student teachers will be able to:
Plan and deliver engaging lessons for nursery and primary school pupils
Apply modern teaching methodologies based on competency-based learning
Use technology effectively to enhance the learning experience
Manage classroom environments to promote student growth and participation
The CAPIEMP Program is multidisciplinary and integrates both theoretical knowledge and practical training to develop competent educators. The curriculum is divided into the following content areas:
Strengthens communication skills in both English and French
Focuses on language proficiency for teaching in bilingual classrooms
Instructional strategies for effective subject delivery
Child-centered learning methodologies
General pedagogy and learning theories
Classroom management and student assessment
Integration of digital tools for effective teaching
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for education
Simulations & Teaching Practice: Hands-on experience in real classroom settings
Internships: Gain industry experience in primary and nursery schools
