Each year, the Ministry of Secondary Education (MINESEC) launches and organizes the  competitive entrance examination into both government and private teacher training colleges in Cameroon.

This competitive Entrance Examination is meant for Cameroonians  who hold the GCE advanced level GENERAL and who are wishing to be trained as both primary and nursery school teachers. at the end of their training the obtain the teachers grade one certificate commonly known as the CAPIEMP.

To take part in the examination, you must first choose a recognized teacher training institution where you wish to be trained. Oxford Teacher Training (ENIEG DU WOURI) is one of the few legal institutions that are authorized to run this programme.

CAPIEMP Entrance Examination Date

The CAPIEMP Entrance Examination is scheduled for:

Thursday, 3 September 2026

All eligible candidates must sit for this examination before they can begin the CAPIEMP training programme.

How to Apply

To apply for the 2026 CAPIEMP Entrance Examination, follow these steps:

Applying through Oxford Teacher Training is simple. We don’t just train you after admission. We also guide you through the entire entrance examination registration process.

Step 1: Gather Your Documents

Prepare all the required documents and place them in a clean file folder.

Your file should include:

  • Photocopy of your GCE Advanced Level or BAC slip/certificate
  • Photocopy of your Birth Certificate
  • Photocopy of your National Identity Card

Bring these documents to any Oxford Teacher Training campus.

Step 2: Register at Oxford Teacher Training

Choose Oxford Teacher Training as your preferred training institution and complete your school registration along the entrance exam fees.

Step 3: Pay the Required Fees

The following fees (40,000 frs in total) apply:

  • 25,000 FCFA registration fee paid once to Oxford Teacher Training for your two-year training programme.
  • 10,000 FCFA entrance examination fee required by the Ministry of Secondary Education.
  • 5,000 FCFA certification (fiscal stamp).

 

The 5,000 FCFA covers:

  • 3,500 FCFA for the fiscal stamps used to certify your GCE Advanced Level/BAC certificate and Birth Certificate.
  • 1,500 FCFA for your medical certificate from the government hospital designated by the Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Secondary Education.

Step 5: Receive Your Examination Slip

After your application has been verified and approved by the Ministry of Secondary Education, an examination slip will be issued.

This slip contains your examination details and must be presented on Thursday, 3 September 2026 when you sit for the CAPIEMP Entrance Examination.

Step 6: Results and Start of Classes

Once the Ministry publishes the results, Oxford Teacher Training will receive the list of successful candidates.

The results will also be shared in the official school WhatsApp group that you are added to during registration.

Successful candidates will then receive the date for the orientation meeting, where they will be introduced to the programme, lecturers, school regulations, and the official start of classes.

Deadline for Submission

All application files must be submitted no later than Thursday, 20 August 2026.

This deadline is strict. Incomplete or late application files will not be accepted.

After the entrance examination results are published, the Ministry of Secondary Education will transfer the records of successful candidates to their selected teacher training institutions, including Oxford Teacher Training, where they will begin their two-year CAPIEMP training.

Study at Oxford Teacher Training

Once you are successful in the entrance examination, you will complete your two-year CAPIEMP training at Oxford Teacher Training.

195,000 FCFA

The tuition can be paid in four flexible installments, making it easier for students to manage their payments.

Is the Certificate Recognized?

Yes.

After successfully completing your training and meeting all the programme requirements, you will receive a CAPIEMP Certificate issued by the Ministry of Secondary Education (MINESEC).

This is the same certificate awarded to candidates who complete the programme in government teacher training colleges.

With this certificate, you will be eligible to:

  • Apply for teaching positions in private schools.
  • Sit for the Government Integration Examination whenever the government launches a recruitment exercise.
  • Become a government Grade One Teacher if you succeed in the integration process.
